Year 6 students presented the Council their 2014 environmental activities

Mayor Francis Cauchi yesterday had a visit by the Ghajnsielem Primary School’s Year 6 students together with their teacher at his office in the Council’s Administrative Offices.

On behalf of the Ekoskola Committee they presented a letter to the Mayor comprising all the environmental activities they embarked on during the past year. The activities varied from Clean-Ups to plant growing, reduction and separation of refuse, decreasing CO2 emissions and reduction of water and electricity use.

The students thanked the Local Council for keeping the locality clean and in a good state.  The Mayor praised the young students for their initiatives and appreciation towards nature and living things.  He encourage them to keep on taking care of our environment towards a healthier and cleaner world.

Ghajnsielem Primary School won the Green Flag Award for the second time.unnamed[1]
